Jullundur Lunch - London 25 July 2010 (1)

A large gathering of Jullundur Association Members gathered at the Bombay Palace Restaurant, Marble Arch for the 2010 luncheon. Unfortunately neither of the two military senior officers at the Indian and Pakistan High Commission were able to attend but, by courtesy of the Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, the Regiment's Jullundur Trophy was on display accompanied by Captain Christian Wragg (now an Association Member).

We were particulalrly pleased to have Major General Akram and his son present for the occasion. General Akram was Colonel of the Ist (SCINDE) Frontier Force Regiment at the same time that the Association's President was Colonel of The King's Regiment, the successor Regiment to the King's Liverpool Regiment and The Manchester Regiment.

The many guests attending, including some of the newly joined "Piffer" Regiment Association Members, enjoyed an excellent lunch party. Appropriate toasts were drunk and the ties between the three Regiments of the Jullundur Brigade further strengthened.

The occasion saw the first use of the handsome Association banner presented by Pushpindar Singh Chopra and featuring in this photograph.
